Frequently Asked Questions
What should I expect in a counseling session ?
The nature of our sessions may vary based on your individual experiences and needs. Intake sessions are introductory and evaluative. I want to make sure you are comfortable with the counseling process, as well as gain a thorough understanding of who you are. I aim to provide a non-judgemental and supportive environment. This allows you to share your experiences to better understanding their impact while I provide you with the necessary tools needed to work towards achieving your goals.
What forms of payment do you accept?
All major debit and credit cards are accepted as forms of payment.
If my insurance is out of network can I still receive services ?
Yes! If you are uninsured or your insurance provider is out-of-network (OON), self pay rates are available. Superbill options for reimbursement from your insurance company directly are also available. Please consult with your insurance company to verify you OON coverage. Frequently, these out of pock costs can be applied toward your yearly deductible.
I also offer limited “sliding scale” slots based on availability and financial need. Please feel free to reach out to apply.
What is your cancellation policy ?
In order to best serve my clients, I do NOT double-book sessions. I have a 24 hour (business day) cancellation policy. Therefore if you do not cancel prior to the 24 hour window, you will be subject to a $75 late cancellation or no show fee. However, I do provide a 15-minute grace period at the start of sessions. Should you be unable to arrive within 15 minutes of your scheduled start time, the session will be considered a no show and $75 fee applied.
What is a ‘Good Faith Estimate?’
For self pay services, you have the right to request a “Good Faith Estimate” for the total expected costs of your self pay services. If requested, the estimate will be provided to you at least 2 business days before your session. For more questions, please visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 368-1019.
Where is your office ?
My office is conveniently located in Lee Vista area, just north of Orlando International Airport and easily accessible from Lake Nona, Belle Isle and UCF area. Sessions are held by appointment only, office hours vary.
What is tele-health/online counseling ?
Although face to face sessions were previously the norm for counseling services, tele-health has become more popular in recent years. Technology provides you the ability to engage in counseling services with professionals anywhere in the state in which they are licensed. Essentially, you no longer have to pick professionals who are in your immediate area to get the specialized care you are looking for. The flexibility to be seen from home or another private location can be ideal. Life happens but missing therapy doesn’t have to!
The tele-health platform I use for online sessions is HIPAA compliant, private and secure. However, you will need to have access to a private space, computer or other electronic device with reliable internet connection, video and audio capabilities.
